Over 50 years of world adventures and expeditions.

I share my greatest challenges and most intimate moments to make you live and feel it all.

The Author – Jean-Philippe Soulé

If there was only one word to describe Jean-Philippe, it would be passionate. Passion for people, travel, culture, mountains, oceans, jungles, the great outdoors, and life.

After a childhood filled with life-changing experiences and the pursuit of personal achievements, driven by his desire for adventure, his quest to discover new lands and culture, and his heartfelt interest in meeting diverse people, Jean-Philippe left France to travel the world. Inspired by Jacques Cousteau and the great explorers before him, he became the well-travelled world adventurer he longed to be.

Author

His award-winning book DANCING WITH DEATH: An Epic and Inspiring Travel Adventure is a fast-paced, emotional account of his three-year Central American expedition.

I, Tarzan: Against All Odds raises the emotional stakes even higher. It’s the birth of an adventurer, filled with dreams, and never-ending challenges, in a soul-reaching, fast-paced memoir that reads like a fiction novel.

His books in the making My Life With the Mentawai and The World’s Greatest Race will continue to immerse you in a world of epic adventures, cultural discoveries and inner soul voyages to inspire you to be you, love your true-self, follow your dreams and accomplish your goals.

Travel-Adventurer

For over fifty years and counting, Jean-Philippe travels the world, climbing mountains, crossing jungles, diving and sea-kayaking wild oceans and discovering the planet’s most remote regions.

His expeditions and world travels often include endurance sports and cultural discoveries.

His unquenchable thirst for adventure started at three.

Inspired by Jacques Cousteau and other explorers before him; Jean-Philippe will now inspire you to follow your dreams of world travel and epic expeditions, or accomplish any goal.

His birth as an adventurer is best described in his new book I, Tarzan: Against All Odds to be released soon.

Athlete

Jean-Philippe ran ultra-marathons as a teenager. Served in the elite Mountain Commando Special Forces of the French Army. Worked as a mountain guide in rescue operations. Taught ice-diving as a Master-Scuba-Diver-Trainer in the USA. Raced cross-country ski marathons in Japan. Became Japan cycling prologue national champion at a UCI Asia tour race. Sea-kayaked 3,000 miles while free-diving to spear his daily food.

He is also a national USA cycling coach and licensed French guide organizing bicycle tours in the most spectacular mountains of Europe.

Jean-Philippe practiced high-level sports his entire life. Today, in his fifties, he continues by racing the most extreme ultra bikepacking races, the subject of a new book in the making.

Humanitarian

Fascinated by indigenous people from his youngest age, Jean-Philippe traveled not only to meet and live with dozens of traditional tribal groups, but to help them too.

He founded the Native Planet non-profit organization to help document and preserve tribal lifestyle and culture. He dedicated twelve years of his life to run cultural and humanitarian projects to help the Mentawai.

After many projects, Native Planet closed for lack of funds, but Jean-Philippe remains closely involved with the Mentawai.

Some of his work is described in the award-winning French documentary Rendez-vous en Terre Inconnue.

Photographer

Published by National Geographic, the United Nations, and dozens of major publications around the world, Jean-Philippe’s award-winning cultural documentaries and images showcase beautiful world diversity.

A photo may be worth a thousand words but Jean-Philippe believes the story that goes along with a photo is worth so much more. His books will immerse you into his world in a way even his photographs couldn’t. But there is no better way to describe his photos than to show you a sample of his work you may peruse in the photo gallery.

He is excited to share his exclusive images of the Mentawai people in his next book, My Life With the Mentawai.

Motivational Speaker

Jean-Philippe’s fifty years of traveling the world, living on three continents, meeting diverse cultures, working in various fields, overcoming the odds time after time always to accomplish the impossible, combined with his work experience in the French Special Forces, as a Microsoft manager in the US, and a language specialist in Japan, makes him uniquely qualified to inspire others based on his true life experiences. He will boost your self-confidence to accomplish your goals, pursue your dreams, and never give up.

His passion for life is contagious. His books can change lives, and so does hearing his tales in person.

Invite him to join your next team building business seminar, adventure conference or life-improvement retreat.
